When is the effective date of my dependents’ Intellicare coverage?

a.     For existing dependents of regular employees: The effective date of coverage is November 18. However, you must still reconfirm them within the enrollment period. Otherwise, they will lose coverage, and any availments from November 18, 2023 onwards will be charged back to you along with the corresponding HMO admin fees.

b.     For new dependents of regular employees: The effective date of coverage is November 18, given that the dependent is completely enrolled within the enrollment period.

c.     For dependents of newly hired employees: The effective date of coverage starts from the employee’s regularization date, provided that the dependent has been completely enrolled within the enrollment period, which is 30 days from the employee’s regularization.

E.g., employee’s regularization date is December 1 – the employee has the next 30 days to enroll his/her dependent. The dependent’s effective date of coverage is December 1, 2023.

d.     For enrollment of newborns or spouse of newly married employees: The effective date of coverage is from the 15^th day of the newborn and from the date of endorsement or marriage date of the spouse. The enrollment must be done within 30 days from the 15^th day of the infant and 30 days from the date of marriage.

E.g., newborn’s date of birth is December 1, 2023 – the employee can enroll his/her dependent from December 15, 2023 to January 14, 2024. The dependent’s effective date of coverage is December 15, 2022.

E.g., date of marriage is December 1, 2023 – the employee has the next 30 days to enroll his/her dependent. The dependent’s effective date of coverage is December 1, 2023.
